Formation and Creation of Fancy Diamonds

The formation of colored diamonds is slightly different than the formation of their clearer counterparts throughout the world. Scientists today theorize how diamonds occur in nature and know it has something to do with exact conditions. These conditions include: the extreme heat + positioning of carbon bearing rocks (deep under the surface) + time. Carbon atoms are rearranged over a long period of time and a diamond rock forms. However under even rarer circumstances the diamond is formed with a color bearing substance. This formula includes special conditions which are even rarer than the colored diamonds “clearer” brothers and sisters.

It is known that there are ways to mimic nature by using lesser and lower quality diamonds which are “turned” with scientific methods that include radiation and heat. They can be hard to identify from the natural fancy diamonds. With perfect and costly science the “turned” low quality diamonds are turned into stunning yellow diamonds or blue diamonds. It can be difficult to tell difference between a natural yellow diamond and “turned” yellow diamonds.

Whether natural or “turned” colored diamonds, they are unique and brilliant. The natural occurring colored diamonds which are mined from of the earth with their brilliant colors, go for a much higher price than any other.
